Nello Bike Ride Update – I did it!

By 29th June 2018 No Comments

Last weekend the thing that seems to have taken over my life for the last couple of months finally arrived, the Nello Bike Ride in aid of Force Cancer Charity, this has really taken me out of my comfort zone!  I was down to cycle the 55 mile ride and have been putting in lots of training, you may remember from my first blog (here) that on picking up my bike I promptly fell off, so to go from that to completing the 55 mile (very hilly) ride I am feeling quite proud of myself, and somewhat relieved it’s over!

Thanks to all who have supported me through this.  I feel very proud to have been involved in such a fantastic event that really makes a difference to people living with cancer and their families. I had the most fantastic team to spur me along at Gilbert Stephens Solicitors, in particular Don Middlemost who has been a fantastic trainer and motivator, Helen Clegg and Sarah Heath.

Thanks also for all the donations, we have raised over £2000 so far which makes all the effort worth it. Since volunteering to take part in the Nello charity bike ride I have spoken to so many people whose lives have been touched by cancer and it has been overwhelming to hear the outstanding service Force provide.  You can still donate here

A video taken after our first stop at Tiverton Rugby Club as we started the long climb up Longdrag Hill – this is one of the King of the Mountain climbs for Tour of Britain this year – not for the faint hearted…!
