From 14th – 18th October, Rebecca Hedditch from Colyton Grammar School undertook some work experience here at DM PR & Marketing. Here’s what she had to say about her week…
Over the last week, I had the opportunity to do a week of work experience with Dana Mulligan PR and Marketing.
As I take business studies for GCSE, PR and Marketing has always been a career pathway that I’ve taken an interest in, but I’ve never had a real insight into what this sector of business was really like, or if I’d enjoy working in it.
At DM PR, I was straight in at the deep end… and I loved it! I was given so many opportunities to try a range of tasks; not only for DM PR, but for their clients too. I was able to be creative through designing social media posts, help set up a ‘Greatest Showman’ themed window display for Gilbert Stephens Solicitors. I was also able to develop my market researching skills, learn about web design, add to clients’ websites, sit in on event planning meetings with clients, and get to know four amazing women throughout the process: Dana, Charlotte, Charley and Jo.
I was made to feel so welcome and like a part of the team, for which I can’t thank you all enough! My experience was truly invaluable, and I think it’s safe to say I know what I’d like to do when I leave school now!
