Season Finale at Exeter Racecourse

By 9th May 2019 No Comments

DM PR & Marketing rounded off the bank holiday weekend on Tuesday 7th May in style, celebrating with The Heavitree Brewery PLC, who are an independent, family owned tenant and leased pub company based in Exeter. They hosted their fabulous annual evening of racing, which marked the season finale at Exeter Racecourse concluding eight phenomenal months of racing.

It certainly was a night to remember and we were thrilled to be invited to attend the event on behalf of Heavitree Brewery, alongside winning Heavitree Brewery tenants, who compete to sell the highest volume of beer in the months prior to the event. We thoroughly enjoyed being treated to a hospitality package in their Exe Box, while appreciating the electrifying atmosphere of the racing, including the exciting intermediate point-to-point final.

During the evening we had the pleasure of assisting in choosing ‘The best turned out Horse’ from the fifth race, which was right up our street. We very knowingly chose No 3- Briac whose groom won a lovely bottle of Tattinger Champagne! The owner of the winning horse, Darcy Ward, was then presented with a prize by Heavitree Brewery.

Heavitree Brewery and Exeter Racecourse have a long-standing association and the evening is a highlight of the Exeter racing season, attracting top jockeys and owners from across the country.

Heavitree Brewery also brought the South West Ale and Cider Festival to the event to showcase the great taste of brewers across the county.

The night warmed up to an hour-long after party with Matt Edmonson who played a dance worthy set of tunes. General manager of Exeter Racecourse, Jack Parkinson said ‘Racing on Haldon Hill has been exceptional this year and sport in Devon in general has given us a lot to cheer about. There’s so much to celebrate after such a good season, that we thought we’d close in style and encourage people to get up and dance!’
