She initiated the St Thomas Neighbourhood Traders’ Association, which comprises more than 110 companies and has helped give the local business community a forum for discussion and a voice with which to speak to the city council and the rest of Exeter.
She was also instrumental in bringing back St Thomas’s Christmas lights after a gap of more than 20 years. She brought local shops and schools together to support the Christmas lights switch-on event, which she organised herself.

Working with DM PR & Marketing, they sponsored two small local sports teams and a school fete. They worked with another St Thomas business, Visible Changes, to offer a giveaway to Facebook fans.
