South West Business Expo 2018

By 14th November 2018 No Comments

DM PR & Marketing had a brilliant day attending the recent South West Business Expo at Westpoint Arena, Exeter on 14th November.

This is an exceptional event, offering businesses the opportunity to connect with each other to promote growth and prosperity both in the region and in each individual organisation.

The Expo offers a multitude of stands, as well as refreshments and various talks from notable speakers. This year saw key note speakers such as the motivational Brad Burton, professional speaker, entrepreneur, and small business expert; TEDxExeter speaker Gill Hayes on the Power of Hope; and Andy Smith on GDPR and its implications for direct marketing.

Dana is clear on the benefits of events such as these: “It is just so important for businesses, particularly local organisations and SMEs, to get out there and actually talk to each other! You will be surprised at just how much you can be inspired, and how willing other business people are to support and advise each other. We are a community, and though healthy competition is to be encouraged, we are all so unique that it is of benefit to all of us to connect and grow our local economy together.”

We had great fun networking with other professionals from a broad range of sectors, finding enthusiasm and a community attitude prevailed across the event. We were honoured to be asked to spend time with one of our clients at her stand. Teresa Bulford-Cooper, founder of TBC training, offers coaching and bespoke training courses to private clients and corporations and has a long track record of supporting individuals in business to grow their confidence and productivity.

Charlotte, our Business Development Manager, said, “There was an amazing atmosphere at the Expo, it was friendly and buzzing and we really enjoyed connecting with other businesses and seeing what is available in our area. It’s so easy to get caught up in the day to day rush of our work that we sometimes forget to take the time to look around for inspiration from other local organisations and entrepreneurs.

This was a great opportunity to network and get a fresh view of our area, and to build opportunities to develop together. I can’t recommend this event enough for businesses in the South West to attend, we are really looking forward to coming again next year!”
